Brotherhood Ministry
Currently, the Brotherhood organizes the annual Men’s Day program and oversees the Royal Ambassadors. Assistance is also provided for elderly members and special projects.
BAPTISM COMMITTEE
Assists in preparing candidates for the Ordinance of Baptism.
BUILDING COMMITTEE
The Building Committee is responsible for making, supervising and conducting all contracts for new construction and repair jobs that require the employment of others as recommended to the church and to be approved by the church.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The Christian Education Ministry is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing opportunities for Christian growth through Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation Bible School and other teaching opportunities.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
As a part of the Christian Education Ministry, Children’s Church is available for children from age 2-9 every first, second and third Sunday. The staff provides opportunities for Christian growth through Bible Study and biblically-based activities.
CHOIR (Music Ministry)
New Zion Hill is proud of its Music Ministry which consists of various singing groups designated to sing during special services and designated worship services. The current singing groups are the Mass Choir, Male Choir, and Youth Choir.
CLUSTERS MINISTRY
The Clusters Ministry is intended to foster better communication and fellowship among the members of the church by planning activities and small group interaction.
CONDOLENCES COMMITTEE
ensures that member families in bereavement receive an appropriate gesture of sympathy from the Church.
FAMILY ENRICHMENT
The Family Enrichment Ministry plans special events, workshops, retreats, and programs designed to strengthen relationships within the family unit.
FINE ARTS MINISTRY
The Fine Arts Ministry includes Spiritual Interpretive Dance, Drama and Mime, Orchestra and other traditional and contemporary forms of artistic expression which are used to usher in the presence of the Holy Spirit and prepare the hearts of the congregation to receive the Word of God.
FLOWER COMMITTEE
The Flower Committee is responsible for securing, arranging and disposing of floral arrangements for church services.
HELPING HANDS MINISTRY
is a branch of the Outreach Ministry. The function of the Helping Hands Ministry is to sponsor clothing giveaways to the needy in our church and community.
HISTORY COMMITTEE
The History Committee is especially concerned with gathering and preserving available church records, recording full and accurate records, and using the records to help members understand and appreciate their heritage and mission.
HOSTESS MINISTRY
This ministry plans all culinary needs of the church and ensures the proper preparation of food for special events, funeral repasts and whenever their services are requested by the church and community.
MISSIONARY MINISTRY
The purpose of the Missionary Ministry is to show love and concern for the church, community or wherever we go; to create and promote a loving, Christian atmosphere in the church; to help the needy, sick and less fortunate as God sees fit; and to grow stronger in grace as Christians and Missionaries.
MISSIONARIES IN ACTION (MIAs)
is a branch of the Missionary Ministry comprised of young adult women. The MIAs share the same purpose as the Missionary Ministry.
NEW MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
This committee reviews and evaluates membership policies; informs and educates the church membership; develops and implements new membership orientation; reviews the church rolls maintaining church membership; interviews new church members; and assists the church in finding meaningful places of service for them.
NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE
The Voices of New Zion Hill staff welcomes your input, comments or suggestions regarding this publication. We are a vehicle for spreading God’s Word and fellowship among our members and friends.
NURSES MINISTRY
The Nurses Ministry provides care for the sick, the infirmed, and protection for persons in distress - rendering a service for God through serving humanity.
OUTREACH MINISTRY
The function of the Outreach Ministry is to reach out to the lost and surrounding community with the message of hope and support services for those in need such as food and clothing.
PRISON MINISTRY
reaches out to persons who are incarcerated in the Augusta area. Upon request, the Prison Ministry will make special visits to the loved ones of members.
RED CIRCLES
is a ministry for girls 7-18 years of age. Participants progress through various steps by memorizing scripture, active participation, and service. The Red Circles actively participate in the worship service each month.
REVIVAL COMMITTEE
assists the church in promoting church revival services. Revival flyers and general information is prepared for distribution to the congregation and community.
ROYAL AMBASSADORS
is a ministry for boys 7-18 years of age where Christian character, scripture memorization, fellowship and service are emphasized.
PASTOR’S SUPPORT MINISTRY
The Pastor's Support Ministry attends to the pastor’s needs of comfort during worship services and other times associated with worship. This ministry also makes arrangements for visiting preachers who are invited to come to the church in connection with our worship services.
PRAYER MINISTRY
Is comprised of both Monday evening prayer meetings and the Sunday Morning Prayer Line where volunteers man the phone lines to receive calls from those seeking prayer.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/PUBLICITY COMMITTEE
This committee ensures that New Zion Hill is known and understood within the church and community-at-large. It provides information about and promotion of the various ministries and activities of New Zion Hill.
SINGLES MINISTRY
The Singles Ministry meets on a monthly basis and is designed to inform, strengthen, educate, support, encourage and enrich the participants. Special outings are also planned.
SOUND MINISTRY
The members of the Sound Ministry provide audio support for all worship services and special programs.
TELEVISION MINISTRY
The members of the Television Ministry are responsible for recording all 11:00 a.m. worship services and special services as requested by the Pastor for the purpose of television broadcasts.
T.R.U.S.T. MINISTRY
The T.R.U.S.T. Ministry provides spiritual support, encouragement, crisis intervention, grief support, and support for any crisis that may be present in the lives of those seeking assistance. A Crisis Intervention Hotline is available at (706) 793-2224.
TRUSTEES
The Trustees are responsible for the safekeeping, protection, maintenance and repair of the buildings, heating, air conditioning, lighting and sound system, and for general landscape, planning and upkeep of the grounds.
USHERS MINISTRY
The New Zion Hill Ushers Ministry is among the oldest auxiliaries in the church, and it continuously strives to provide a comfortable, friendly atmosphere for all those who enter New Zion Hill’s doors. The Ushers Ministry is a valuable service that contributes to the spiritual dignity of the whole church service. They consist of both Junior and Senior Ushers.
WEBSITE ADVISORY BOARD
The Website Advisory Board assists the Pastor and is responsible for the planning, content, and maintenance of the church website.
WILLING WORKERS MINISTRY
The Willing Workers perform unselfish acts of love and deeds of kindness to aid the various ministries of the church and our members when and where needed.
YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
The Young Adult Ministry is dedicated to inform, strengthen, educate, support, encourage and enrich members between the ages of 18 and 39. Special educational, social and spiritual events are also planned.
YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
The purpose of this board of advisors is to plan and provide programs, guidance, and teaching opportunities that encourage the positive ethical and spiritual development of the youth of New Zion Hill. They assist in teaching Christian values and good citizenship. They also coordinate and supervise activities that encourage church involvement and enhance attendance.
